| About the Community Design Resource Center of Boston What We Do - CDRC-Boston provides two main services: Preliminary Technical Design Assistance CDRC-Boston matches under-funded nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and community groups with architects and other design industry professionals to provide preliminary planning and design of their spaces, buildings, landscapes, neighborhoods, and cities. Preliminary designs help community organizations strengthen fundraising initiatives, mobilize communities in support of a design proposal, or change zoning laws that would improve the health and economic viability of their neighborhoods. Education CDRC-Boston provides opportunities for community members to engage in the design of their communities through workshops, design showcases, summits, and other educational events. CDRC-Boston also works to help familiarize professionals with effective methods for including members of local communities throughout the design and development process. We also showcase the excellent community design work of local professionals in order to highlight best practices in the field. Who We Are Our Mission and Goals The Community Design Resource Center of Boston (CDRC-Boston) is the only organization in Greater Boston that provides services and resources that assist communities to envision, advocate, and implement high quality design solutions that ensure equal access to healthy, sustainable built environments.
